Which sleeping bag is the right one?

You can't go far wrong when choosing and buying sleeping bags from the range offered here. All our sleeping bags are olive green or other shades of green. Sleeping bags come in a variety of sizes. A length of 200 centimeters should be sufficient even for the tallest user. It's crucial that the sleeping bag is never too small. How to wash/clean sleeping bags correctly

Normally, it's not strictly necessary, but every now and then a sleeping bag simply needs a wash. Since hand washing is the only option, you'll usually have to wash it in the bathtub. The type of filling shouldn't normally matter, but of course, you should always follow the manufacturer's instructions and give priority to their advice over other tips.

It's best to fill the bathtub with only a small amount of water and mix in some detergent. If the sleeping bag has a liner, remove it beforehand. Then, place the sleeping bag in the tub and knead it thoroughly. Once it's completely clean, drain the water and wring out the sleeping bag. Of course, you'll then need to repeat the same rinsing process several times with clean water.

To dry the sleeping bag, it is recommended to place a sturdy drying rack in the bathtub and hang it over it, ideally with two people. A lot of water will drip off, so it's best to choose a place like the bathtub for it to drain and dry.

After that, you can consider waterproofing. There are special sprays and products available for this. If waterproofing is necessary, this will usually be mentioned in the manufacturer's care instructions.

A hood or thermal collar can help prevent the head area from cooling down too much. Zippers often also have a storm flap, which further reduces heat loss and the risk of injury.

What is the so-called differential section?

What does "coupling" mean when referring to sleeping bags?

The only thing to keep in mind is that if you opt for a down sleeping bag, you shouldn't skimp on quality and should prioritize a high-quality down filling.

What does the term "bulk strength" refer to?

When buying down, pay attention to the fill power rating, although the manufacturer's specifications may not always reflect reality. The values ​​are given in "k/u," cubic inches per ounce, e.g., 725 k/u. This explains why the rating is also often given in "cuin," which means "cubic inches."

What does source capital mean?

The loft, also known as the swelling capacity, describes the ratio of pure down to coarser, feathery down in down fillings. These coarser down feathers act as support feathers. The designation 80/20 would indicate that the sleeping bag contains 80% pure down and 20% fill down.

What is the best way to store it?

As long as the sleeping bag hasn't become damp or even wet, after use and a short airing period, it can simply be packed—without being compressed—in one of the fabric storage bags, such as those offered for under-bed storage. Alternatively, some outdoor enthusiasts wrap their sleeping bags in old bed sheets. The important thing is not to squeeze or compress it, as this would compress the filling material too much, preventing it from fully expanding and thus reducing its insulating properties. There are also special storage bags available; ultimately, it's a matter of personal preference.
