A sweater is always appropriate, everywhere.
Not all sweaters are created equal. Some models are better suited to harsh outdoor environments, meaning cold or rainy conditions, while others are designed more for leisure activities and summer camping. This is naturally reflected in the choice of colors, which is why we offer green, black, gray, and even red options.
It's important that clothing fits well, because only when a sweater fits properly do you have sufficient freedom of movement while also being optimally protected against cold and moisture. Therefore, you should make sure that the sweater—colloquially called a pullover—is long enough, especially in the back, to prevent your kidneys from getting cold. College sweaters or hooded models perform this task just as well as fleece versions.

How do the differences in material manifest themselves?
Sweaters made of virgin wool offer good warmth, protection, and insulation because virgin wool absorbs moisture and wicks it away. To help virgin wool retain its shape, it is often blended with a percentage of polyacrylic.
Cotton has similar properties to virgin wool and feels pleasant against the skin. Fleece is a synthetic fiber product that has the enormous advantage of being very thin and lightweight, while still retaining body heat.
Blended fabrics combine the best properties of the aforementioned materials, resulting in premium sweaters, which are of course available in a wide selection here at ASMC. In addition to a broad range of sweaters, ASMC also offers a variety of jackets that perfectly complement our sweaters, providing extra protection and comfort for various outdoor activities.
Which variant is suitable for which application?
The sweaters in our range are truly suitable for every situation, whether military, security, leisure, or outdoor. Cotton, for example, is perfect as a mid-layer, even under bulletproof or safety vests. Lightweight cotton sweaters are, of course, always appropriate for leisure activities as well. Fleece sweaters should not be worn alone in extreme cold, but are ideal for the transitional seasons and moderate cold.

Tip: Sweaters made of (virgin) wool should only be washed using the hand wash cycle and should never be put in the dryer.

Here's a tip on how to keep your clothes dry during a hike so they're not damp in the morning. You can take advantage of two things by simply putting your sweater or other clothing item inside your sleeping bag. This will keep your feet extra warm, and your clothes won't be damp the next day, unlike if you leave them in your tent.
