What should I keep in mind when using gloves?

Tip: Wash your hands before putting on your gloves to reduce the development of unpleasant odors. Tactical gloves for military use

Tactical gloves are used in military and law enforcement settings. They are characterized by their robustness and at the same time provide you with a good grip and protection against mechanical impacts. Reinforcements on the palms and fingers offer additional protection and increased durability.

When choosing gloves, it is important that they are not too tight so as not to impair circulation and cause cold fingers. Many gloves are constructed in multiple layers to provide better insulation according to the onion principle. What materials are available?

In addition to choosing the right size, you also have to face the challenge of choosing the right material. You can choose between common materials such as polyester, neoprene, polyacrylic, as well as artificial (synthetic) and natural leather. For special fields of application there are special fabrics, for example the so‑called flame-resistant Nomex leather blends, absolutely waterproof fabrics such as MVT fabric made of nylon and Lycra, or cold-weather gloves made of polyester and cotton with warm Thinsulate lining. Studs applied to the materials often further improve grip.

Why are my hands always so cold and what can I do about it?

Our hands are crisscrossed with many blood vessels that constrict in the cold. In addition to the hands, the feet, ears, nose and chin are also affected. Reduced blood flow to the extremities allows the body core to continue to be supplied with sufficiently warm blood, while hands and feet cool down quickly. The skin on the hands is usually thin and has little insulating fat. Since the hands also have a relatively large surface area, a lot of heat is lost there. In addition to physical factors, psychological issues such as stress or anxiety can also cause the vessels to constrict and make your hands feel cold. Blood circulation can be stimulated by spicy foods such as red pepper, Tabasco, chili or paprika powder. To prevent cold hands, you should train your blood vessels, for example with contrast showers or cardiovascular exercise. Sauna visits also promote circulation. It is also important to ensure relaxation in everyday life, because in stressful situations adrenaline and noradrenaline are released, which can cause the vessels to narrow.

Extra tip: Sprinkling cayenne pepper on your hands can also provide warmth. But be careful: this should only be used sparingly, as it can cause skin irritation and can be particularly dangerous around the eyes.
